Settings of Shakespeare

May 7, 2006; 7:30 pm

First Congregational Church, Ithaca

309 Highland Road, Cayuga Heights

Bring the whole family to this educational program of music and prose pulled from a wide range of Shakespeare’s works.  Texts from his plays, including A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Othello, Twelfth Night, The Tempest and Macbeth, as well as his most famous sonnet, are set in diverse styles, ranging the gamut from opera to doo-wop.  With each song briefly placed in dramatic context, the show will be accessible even to those unfamiliar with his work.
