“We've put together a program that highlights the poignancy, humor, and tenderness of this amazing book, Little Women,” says Artistic Director Doreen Alsen. Blending excerpts from Little Women with musical commentary from composers Samuel Barber, Randall Thompson, Francis Poulenc, Gustav Holst, and Benjamin Britten, among others, the program uncovers new levels of meaning in Alcott's masterwork. At the same time, it stands on its own as a joyful exploration of 20th century treble music.
